Ezekiel Ansah

Ezekiel Ansah is a Ghanaian professional football player who currently plays as a defensive end for the Detroit Lions. Ansah attended college at Brigham Young University where he tried out for their basketball team in 2008 and 2009; he was rejected both times. Ansah successfully walked on to the BYU’s track team after being rejected from basketball. He also successfully walked on to the BYU’s football team where he played from 2010-2012. During his first year on the football team, Ansah had to be taught the most basic rules and techniques since he was unfamiliar with American football. Prior to the 2013 Draft, Ansah was not listed on any of the 2012 mock drafts, but over time, that changed. The Detroit Lions selected Ansah as the fifth overall pick during the 2013 NFL Draft. On May 13, 2013, Ansah signed his five-year rookie contract with the Lions. During his rookie year, Ansah was named Mel Farr rookie of the year.
