About Evan Longoria
Evan Longoria has come a long way since being an undrafted junior college shortstop at Rio Hondo Community College in 2004. Not only did he work his way to becoming a first round pick of the Tampa Bay Rays in 2006, he became a mainstay with the franchise.
After earning American League Rookie of the Year honors and leading the Rays to a World Series appearance in 2008, Longoria became a star. He led the Rays to two more playoff appearances while finishing in the top 10 of the MVP voting three times. His relaxed approach at the plate has been imitated by thousands of kids, and his quick hands and strong arm at third base have earned him three Gold Glove Awards.
