Evan Bates Biography

Evan Bates is an American ice dancer and four-time Olympian. Partnered with his wife, Madison Chock, since 2011, he is a 2022 Olympic team event gold medalist and three-time Olympian with her (2014, 2018, 2022). Together, they are three-time World champions (2023–2025), becoming the first team in 28 years to three-peat; three-time Grand Prix Final champions (2023–2026); three-time Four Continents champions; and six-time U.S. national champions (2015, 2020, 2022–2025), tying the American record. Earlier, Bates competed with Emily Samuelson, winning the 2008 World Junior title and representing the U.S. at the 2010 Olympics. He enters the 2026 Olympics as a favorite for individual gold.
