About Ernie Sims
Ernie Sims III is an American football player who played in the NFL for eight seasons. In high school, Sims played linebacker as well as running back. In 2003, Sims was a true freshman who played in all 13 games for Florida State as well as in the Orange Bowl. As a sophomore, Sims played in 12 games and was named to the second All-ACC team and was named to ESPN’s first All-American team.
Sims was drafted as the ninth overall pick to the Detroit Lions during the 2006 NFL draft. As a rookie for the Lions, Sims started in all 16 games. In 2010, Sims was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles where he played until 2011. In 2011, the Indianapolis Colts signed Sims who was not resigned at the end of the year. In 2012, Sims went on to play for the Dallas Cowboys where he played his final season in 2013.
Sims has since invested his life into coaching and is currently a linebackers coach at the University of Central Florida.
