About Erica Sullivan
Erica Sullivan reached her Olympic dream at the Tokyo Olympics. Sullivan finished behind American swimming legend Katie Ledecky with a silver in the 1500-meter freestyle. Sullivan rising to the top of her sport is perhaps no surprise to those who know her best. She has persevered as an elite swimmer despite losing her father at the age of 16 to esophageal cancer. He was a strong influence in her swimming pursuits as a former star in the pool at the University of Wisconsin. Sullivan battled through anxiety and depression after the loss of her father, but has become a strong mental health advocate. She is also a positive role model for Asian-Americans and those in the LGBTQ community.
