About Eric Tulsky
Eric Tulsky is the General Manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, who orchestrated a roster that brought home the 2026 Stanley Cup. The Michigan native holds a BA from Harvard and a PhD in chemistry from UC Berkeley, where he specialized in inorganic/solid-state chemistry and nanotechnology. He worked as a researcher and project leader in the private sector before transitioning to hockey. Tulsky began in hockey as a prominent analytics blogger on the SBNation/Broad Street Hockey site. He joined the Hurricanes in 2014 as Manager of Hockey Analytics, rising through the front office with a data-driven, aggressive approach to roster building, drafting, and trades. Promoted to GM in 2024, he helped construct a fast, skilled, and deep team that won the 2026 Stanley Cup, going 16-3 in the playoffs. Known for balancing analytics with bold decision-making and collaborating effectively with coach Rod Brind’Amour, Tulsky represents a modern NHL executive who transitioned successfully from science to elite sports management.
