About Eric LeGrand
Eric LeGrand is a living tribute to the power of persistence and keeping a positive attitude. LeGrand was an important part of the Rutgers football team in 2010 when he suffered a severe spinal cord injury in a game against Army. In recovery, LeGrand continued to defy the odds, doing things like increasing his exercise to be able to breathe on his own and working to regain function in some of his extremities. He made it a point to remain an important part of the Rutgers community and his number #52 jersey was retired. LeGrand was also made an honorary draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2012. The Star-Ledger recognized him as the Most Influential Person in New Jersey and he won the New Jersey Hall of Fame's Unsung Hero Award. LeGrand was presented the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance at the 2012 ESPYs. He continues to travel the country today as an inspirational speaker encouraging people to never give up.
