About Eric Allen
Coming out of Arizona State University, Eric Allen was selected in the 2nd round of the 1988 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1988 as a rookie and played for the Eagles famous "Green Gang" defense for the first 7 years of his career. Allen was a defensive cornerback and specialized in creating turnovers. Throughout his career, Allen totaled 51 interceptions. One of those picks occurred in the 1993 season when Allen picked off a pass at his own 6-yard line and returned it 94 yards for the game-winning TD; this pick has been dubbed "The Greatest Interception Return in NFL History" by NFL Films. Allen remains the only player in NFL history in to return three interceptions for TDs in at least two separate seasons. Allen retired after the 2001 season, only every missing 3 games his entire career. In 2002, Allen joined ESPN as an NFL analyst and he has also made appearances on the Pac-12 Network.
