Diego Pavia Biography

Diego Pavia is a dynamic college football player and a fast-rising star quarterback for the Vanderbilt Commodores. In high school, he excelled in football, baseball, and wrestling at Volcano Vista High School, winning a state wrestling title. Underrated due to his height, Pavia dominated at New Mexico Military Institute, leading the 2021 NJCAA National Championship with 2,644 passing yards and 1,107 rushing yards. At New Mexico State in 2022-23, he earned the 2023 Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year, throwing for 2,245 yards and rushing for 577, highlighted by an upset over No. 18 Liberty. Transferring to Vanderbilt in 2024, he stunned Alabama 40-35, snapping a 40-year Crimson Tide win streak. In 2025, he has the usually underwhelming Commodores thriving and knocking on the door of a College Football Playoff invite for the first time.
