About Destinee Hooker
Destinee Hooker was born in Germany but she grew up in the great state of Texas. We all know that saying, “Don’t mess with Texas,” and that saying was never more true than when she played volleyball and ran track for the Texas Longhorns from 2006 to 2009. On the volleyball court she dominated, earning Big 12 Player of the Year and All-American honors in 2009 after leading her team to the national championship game. On the track she was just as impressive, winning the NCAA outdoor high jump championship in three consecutive years and winning the indoor high jump championship in 2009 with an NCAA record 6’6” jump. Upon graduation from Texas she joined the USA Women’s National Team and began competing internationally. During her first two years with the team she helped lead them to consecutive FIVB World Grand Prix gold medals and in 2012 she helped the USA volleyball team to a silver medal at the London Olympic Games.
