About David Villa
David Villa is an international soccer star that now plays in the MLS for NYCFC. Villa has played internationally for Spain since 2005. With him on the national team, they won the Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup. Villa retired from international competition in 2014 as the all-time leading scorer in Spain’s history with 59 goals. He was also the Silver Boot winner at the 2010 World Cup and his nine career World Cup goals are also a Spanish record. Villa has played for four different La Liga teams and achieved massive success. His teams won three Copa del Rey and three La Liga titles. Villa paced La Liga in goals in four different seasons. In 2005-06, he was the Spanish Player of the Year. Villa is now trying to make soccer a big-time attraction in The Big Apple and he scored the first home goal in NYCFC history.
