About David Klingler
David Klingler played his college football at the University of Houston from 1988 to 1991. During that time he set numerous college football records, including most touchdown passes in a game with 11 and most yards gained in a single game with 716 in 1990. He left the Cougars for the NFL in 1991 with 9,430 passing yards and 91 career touchdowns. In the 1992 NFL Draft he was selected with the 6th overall pick in the first round by the Cincinnati Bengals. He’d go on to play the first three seasons of his career in Cincinnati before playing two seasons with the Oakland Raiders and retiring with the Green Bay Packers in 1998. After his retirement, Klingler devoted his life to his Christian faith. He attended Dallas Theological Seminary and earned his masters in theology and Ph.D. in Old Testament Studies. Klingler was an assistant professor of biblical studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary’s Harvard School of Theological Studies in Houston and is currently an Associate Professor of Bible Exposition at Dallas Theological Seminary.
