About Daryl Morey
Daryl Morey is the President of Basketball Operations for the Philadelphia 76ers. Morey is considered one of the most influential minds when it comes to basketball analytics. He had a tremendous run of success leading the front office efforts for the Houston Rockets from 2007-2020. During his tenure, the Rockets posted the second-most wins in the NBA. Houston advanced to the Western Conference Finals in 2015 and 2018, the latter year ending with Morey winning NBA Executive of the Year. In addition to a focus on data, Morey is noted for his aggressive style that led to the acquisition of superstars like James Harden and Chris Paul via trade. Morey originally joined the Rockets as assistant general manager in 2006. He had previously worked for the Boston Celtics as senior vice president of operations. Morey began his career with the strategy consulting firm, The Parthenon Group. He also worked at STATS, Inc. as a statistical consultant. He is the co-founder of the annual MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference.
