Darren Sproles

Darren Sproles was selected in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers after a standout career at Kansas State University. Sproles signed with K-State out of Olathe North High School in Olathe, Kansas, where he rushed for 2,031 yards in just nine games as a junior and 2,485 yards and 49 touchdowns as a senior in route to leading his team to a Kansas 6A State title.   During his four-year career at Kansas State he rushed for 4,979 yards and 45 touchdowns.  After earning his degree in speech pathology he headed to the NFL and played the first five seasons of his career in San Diego.  After the 2010 season he spent three seasons in New Orleans with the Saints before landing with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2014. Sproles played five seasons with the Eagles and was part of their team that won Super Bowl LII. Overall, he was a two-time first-team All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowler. He made an impact everywhere he played, originally serving as one of the league's most dangerous return men before growing into an all-purpose threat. in 2011, Sproles set an NFL record with 2,696 all-purpose yards. His early career success as a kick returner landed him a spot on the Chargers 50th Anniversary Team. Sproles retired following the 2018 season with 19,520 all-purpose yards, a good enough mark to rank him among the top ten in league history.
