About Dani Rylan Kearney
Dani Rylan Kearney is an entrepreneur, former hockey player, and pioneering executive in women’s hockey. The Florida native played NCAA Division I hockey at Northeastern University, where she served as team captain. In 2015, she founded the National Women’s Hockey League, the first professional women’s hockey league in the United States, and served as its commissioner until 2020. Her vision helped launch paid professional opportunities for female players in North America. Since October 2023, she has worked as a pro/regional scout for the Edmonton Oilers of the NHL, becoming one of the few women in an NHL scouting role and continuing to break barriers in hockey operations.
