About Dain Blanton
Dain Blanton has the distinct honor of being one of only a handful of players in the history of volleyball who can say they have won a championship at every level of the game: college, professional, and Olympic. Following an All-American high school career, Blanton attended Pepperdine University where he helped win a D1 National Championship in 1992. Blanton went on to be named as a collegiate All-American before beginning his professional career with the AVP. He is known as one of the best servers in AVP history, setting an AVP record with 11 aces in a single game to 15 in 1997. Blanton made his first trip to the Olympics in 2000 with partner Eric Fonoimoana as a part of the beach volleyball competition, where the pair brought home the gold medal. Blanton returned to the Olympics in 2004 with a new partner, and although they failed to place he became the first male U.S. Beach Volleyball Olympian to compete in 2 different Olympics.
