Curtis Tomasevicz

Curtis Tomasevicz, a multi-talented athlete, played college football and competed for the United States in bobsledding. Tomasevicz is a two-time Olympic medalist, winning gold in the four-man bobsled in 2010 and bronze in 2014. He earned a degree in electrical engineering and astronomy at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln after growing up in Shelby, Nebraska throughout the 1980’s. On top of playing college football there, he was named an Academic All Big 12 in 2002. After graduating, Tomasevicz went on to focus mainly on bobsledding and has been competitively racing since 2004. He earned his first notable victory at the 2007 World Championships in St. Moritz with a silver medal. Since, Tomasevicz has earned six bronze medals and four gold. His gold medals were achieved at the 2009 World Championships in Lake Placid in the four-man event, the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver in the four-man event, the 2012 World Championships in Lake Placid in the four-man event, and at the 2013 World Championships in St. Moritz in the mixed team. In addition to bobsledding, Tomasevicz is a devout Catholic who practices his religion daily and also currently speaks at schools all across the state of Nebraska.
