Condredge Holloway Speaker and Booking Agent Information

Condredge Holloway is a football player best known for his time playing in the Canadian Football League and with the University of Tennessee. As an Alabama native, Holloway was born in 1954 and quite shockingly, he preferred playing baseball over football. In fact, Holloway was drafted out of high school before the age of 18 as the fourth overall pick of the 1971 MLB Draft by the Montreal Expos, but under Alabama law could not sign the contract without parental consent. Instead, Holloway set standards high at the University of Tennessee by becoming the first black quarterback both at the school and in the Southeastern Conference. He led the team to many victories and played for the Canadian Football League after graduating from college. In 1975, he was selected in the NFL Draft by the New England Patriots but chose not to sign. He continued playing in the Canadian Football League until announcing his retirement from the game in 1980, while he was with the BC Lions. Holloway had many good memories with the game of football, including being a two-time Grey Cup champion and a recipient of the Jeff Russel Memorial Trophy. Holloway currently gives back to the game as the assistant athletic director at his alma mater, in addition to being a co-owner of a D1 Sports Training Facility in his home state of Alabama. The admiration Holloway has earned as a player and as a person has been recognized in ESPN’s The Color Orange: The Condredge Holloway Story, which was released in 2011.
