About Christian Yelich
Christian Yelich is expected to be a foundational piece of the Milwaukee Brewers franchise for years to come. The Marlins showed tremendous faith by signing the then 23-year-old Yelich to a seven-year, $49.57 million contract extension before the 2015 season. He hit .284 with 21 stolen bases in 144 games in 2014 while winning a Gold Glove for his fantastic outfield play. Many expect Yelich to hit with more power as he gets more experience in the major leagues. He originally came up with the club and played 62 games in 2013, hitting .288. Yelich played at powerhouse Westlake High School and is a native of Thousand Oaks, California. He signed with the Marlins in 2010 out of high school for a $1.7 million signing bonus.
