About Chris Klug
For Chris Klug, nothing could seem to go right for him as he was growing up. Born prematurely, Klug was subject to numerous health issues that constantly landed him in the hospital. That didnt stop him from learning how to snowboard and shortly after make a career out of it. However, his health issues did help him deal with his diagnosis of Primary Sclerosing Cholangitits which required him to get a liver transplant in 2000. Following the transplant, Klug hopped right back on his board, winning a World Cup event just 6 months later. Klug qualified and made the US Olympic Team for the 2002 Olympics, becoming the first transplantee to compete in an Olympic Games. Not only did Klug compete though, he also brought home a bronze medal in the Parallel Giant Slalom event. Klug has gone on to write an autobiography as well as begin the Chris Klug Foundation as an activist to promote and bring awareness to organ donations.
