About Channing Crowder
Channing Crowder is a former professional linebacker for the Miami Dolphins of the NFL. Crowder attended the University of Florida from 2003-04 on an athletic scholarship. During his freshman year, Crowder played in 11 games and started in 9. Crowder led the nation in tackles by a freshman during the 2003 season. Crowder was named a team captain during the 2004 season and he earned the team’s outstanding linebacker award. After his second collegiate season, Crowder was recognized as a first-team All-SEC selection as well as an ESPN All-American. The Miami Dolphins selected Crowder as the 70th overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft. Crowder signed a four-year contract with the Dolphins and he started 13 of the 16 games that season. Crowder became an unrestricted free agent in 2009, but on February 25, 2009, Crowder re-signed with the Dolphins. The Dolphins released Crowder on July 29, 2011 and on August 9, 2011, Crowder announced his retirement.
