About Brian Robinson Jr.
Brian Robinson Jr. is an NFL running back for the San Francisco 49ers. Hailing from the bedrock of elite football in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, he played college football at the University of Alabama, where he rushed for 2,704 yards and 29 touchdowns, contributing to a national championship in 2020. Selected by the Commanders in the third round (98th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft, Robinson overcame a harrowing incident before his rookie season when he was shot twice during an attempted robbery in Washington, D.C., in August of the 2022 season. He recovered remarkably, debuting just six weeks later.
Over four seasons with the Washington Commanders (2022-2025), Robinson played 44 games, rushing 617 times for 2,643 yards (4.3 yards per carry) and 13 touchdowns while adding 92 receptions for 787 yards and five receiving touchdowns. He’s revered for his resilience and community work, including youth football camps in Alabama.
