About Brian Cushing
Brian Cushing was a dominant linebacker who played his entire career nine-year NFL career with the Houston Texans. Prior to his time in the league, Cushing was an All-American linebacker at the University of Southern California. In four seasons at USC, Cushing was named an All-American two times, along with multiple All-Pac 10 mentions and was named the 2007 Rose Bowl Defensive MVP.
After an impressive NFL Combine, the Houston Texans selected Cushing in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft, and he recorded one of the best defensive seasons by a rookie in NFL history. That season Cushing earned 2009 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and Pro Bowl honors after recording five sacks and four interceptions.
Cushing was also named a second-team All-Pro in 2011 and eventually became Houston's all-time leading tackler. He recorded over 100 tackles three times and was part of some of the first successful teams in Texans' history, making the playoffs on four occasions.
