About Barry Foster
Barry Foster played five seasons at running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers and was a two-time Pro Bowler. Foster was unleashed in his third season and head coach Bill Cowher’s first season in Pittsburgh. He ran for a team record 1,690 yards and 11 touchdowns. His punishing style reminded many of Steelers’ Hall of Famer Franco Harris. After trying to play for the Carolina Panthers and Cincinnati Bengals, Foster abruptly retired at age 26 due to the many injuries he had endured in his football life. He played at Arkansas in college and for Duncanville High School in Texas. Foster now lives with his family in the Dallas area and teaches middle school P.E.
