WNBA Star Maya Moore Speaks at Coaches 4 Character Series in South Carolina

The Coaches 4 Character speaker series rolled on this week with one of the WNBA's biggest stars. Now in her offseason, Maya Moore made the trip down to Greenville, South Carolina to speak on Tuesday. 

The Greenville News organizes the regular events. Hundreds attended Moore's presentation and cheered when she walked into the room.

Moore spoke about her journey to the top of women's basketball and encouraged those in attendance to pursue their ambitions to the fullest. During the event, two Southside High School students were also honored with Coaches 4 Character Awards. 

The Minnesota Lynx launched Moore's pro career when they made her the top overall pick of the 2011 WNBA Draft. Since, she has won three WNBA titles and been a four-time All-Star. 

Moore has also been a four-time All-WNBA first team pick. She was the league's Rookie of the Year in 2011, won the Most Valuable Player trophy in 2014 and was named WNBA Finals MVP in 2013. 

This year, Moore was named to the WNBA's 20@20 team. She has won two Olympic gold medals with Team USA and had a successful career overseas, playing for pro teams in Spain and China during the WNBA offseason.
