Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alvarez Named Featured Speaker at St. Norbert College Sport and Society Conference

Barry Alvarez has a unique story of success throughout college athletics.  Alvarez will get to share his story this May at St. Norbert College.

The school announced that the Wisconsin coach turned athletic director will be a featured speaker at their Sport and Society Conference May 23-25.  They hold the event in conjunction with the Green Bay Packers and this edition will focus on “The Business of College Sports”.

Alvarez will speak on May 24th from 9-10:15 a.m. at the St. Norbert’s Walter Theater.  It is free to attend the presentation and conference passes cost $225.

There are not many individuals on the college scene regarded better than Alvarez.  He has parlayed a 16-year stint coaching the Badgers into a wildly successful tenure as AD in Madison.

At 118-73-4, Alvarez is the all-time leader in wins at UW and his teams captured three Big 10 titles during his tenure.  He has a 9-4 bowl record, including three Rose Bowl wins.

In 2010, Alvarez was honored for his coaching success with induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.  He also serves as a member of the College Football Playoff selection committee.
