Veteran Linebacker LaMarr Woodley Keynotes Saginaw Promise Fundraiser

Yesterday, veteran NFL linebacker LaMarr Woodley returned hom to Saginaw, Michigan to speak at a very special event.  He keynoted a fundraiser for Saginaw Promise.

Saginaw Promise is an organization that provides college scholarships for local students.  The event was held at the Horizons Conference Center beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Included in the fundraiser was a dinner, reception, silent auction and a question and answer session.  Tickets to attend cost $125.

Woodley is currently a free agent after being a force through nine NFL seasons.  He spent seven of those years with the Pittsburgh Steelers and became one of their impact players on defense.

In the 2008 NFL Playoffs, Woodley notched three multi-sack games, including a game-sealing sack on Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner to win Super Bowl XLIII.  The following year, he was elected to the Pro Bowl and named a second-team All-Pro.

Woodley spent the last two seasons with the Oakland Raiders and Arizona Cardinals.  The Steelers originally selected him in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft after he recorded an All-American campaign at Michigan.
