Texas A&M Coach Kevin Sumlin Speaks at Touchdown Club of Houston

Many Texas A&M fans reside in the Houston area. The Touchdown Club of Houston took advantage of that base by inviting Aggies football coach Kevin Sumlin to speak on Wednesday.

The club's Texas A&M Luncheon was held at noon at the Bayou City Event Center. The event was hosted by Kapstone Containers and individual tickets were $50.

Tables of ten ranged in price from $500 to $2,500. Sumlin was able to share his outlook for the 2017 Aggies and give some inside details about the program.

Sumlin has been the head coach at Texas A&M since 2012 and the Aggies have won at least eight games each season. He has guided the program during their transition to the Southeastern Conference.

In 2012, Texas A&M went 11-2, finished fifth in the polls and Sumlin was named SEC Coach of the Year. Before arriving in College Station, he was the head coach at the University of Houston for four seasons.

Sumlin led the Cougars to two double-digit win seasons and two Conference-USA West Division titles. He was the C-USA Coach of the Year in 2009 and 2011.
