Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wide Receiver Mike Evans Hosts Camp in Hometown

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is an inspiration to many in his hometown of Galveston, Texas.  Over the weekend, he went back to the town to host the Mike Evans Summer Football Camp.

Youngsters gathered at Ball High School from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.  They were taught the basic fundamentals of football.

All drills and skills taught were based on USA Football's Player Progression Model.  The camp certainly created a fun and informative atmosphere.

Evans is enterting his third NFL season with the Buccaneers.  Last season, he caught 74 passes for 1,206 yards and three touchdowns.

Evans also had a banner rookie campaign in Tampa Bay, grabbing 68 passes for 1,051 yards and 12 scores.  The franchise selected him with the seventh overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

In college, Evans was a star at Texas A&M.  As a redshirt sophomore, he was named a consensus All-American and first-team All-SEC pick.
