Softball Great Jennie Finch Keynotes GAMES Awards Banquet May 16th

The 26th annual GAMES Awards Banquet is being held May 16th at the Augusta Marriott in Georgia. Softball icon Jennie Finch is the keynote speaker. 

The event is presented by the Augusta Sports Council and The Augusta Chronicle. Each year, the top student-athletes are recognized from the region for their athletic and academic excellence. 

There will be four graduating students that receive scholarships based on their academic and civic achievements. Individual tickets are $50 and table reservations cost $450. 

Finch first gained national notoriety as a pitcher at the University of Arizona. She set a NCAA record by winning 60 consecutive games. 

Finch went 119-16 with a 1.08 ERA in her career at Arizona. She pitched for Team USA at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics, winning a gold and silver medal respectively.

Finch pitched professionally for the Chicago Bandits and retired from the sport in 2010. She is still active in the sport, running camps around the country and the annual Jennie Finch World Series.
