One of the former in-state college football coaches highlights the list of this year's speakers at the Selma Quarterback Club.  Troy head coach Larry Blakeney will speak at the club's second event on September 12th. 

The Selma Quarterback Club is the second oldest group of its kind in Alabama.  The events begin at 6 p.m. and dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. 

For eight meetings, the registration price is $175.  If people are interested in just hearing Blakeney, guest tickets are available at the event for $35.  

Blakeney was the head coach at Troy for 24 years.  He successfully transitioned the program from the Division II to Division I FBS level. 

From 1991-2014, Blakeney racked up a 178-113-1 record.  He won three Southland Conference and five Sun Belt Conference titles. 

Once the Trojans transitioned to FBS in 2004, Blakeney guided them to five bowl games.  He is a member of the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame and the Troy University Sports Hall of Fame.
