Retired Super Bowl Winning Coach Dick Vermeil Speaks at Kids Breakfast in California

Ex-Super Bowl champion coach Dick Vermeil is known as one of the most motivational forces in football history.  Nowadays, Vermeil uses his fiery speeches for another purpose.

On April 8th, he will speak at the Wake Up Your Heart Calistoga Breakfast for Kids.  The event will be held at the Butler Pavilion at the Napa County Fairgounds in California.

Doors open at 7 a.m. while breakfast begins at 7:15 a.m. Tickets are free, but an RSVP is required for the third annual event.

Vermeil took the St. Louis Rams on an improbable run to victory in Super Bowl XXXIV.  That season, he won his third of four NFL Coach of the Year awards.

In addition to coaching the Rams, Vermeil also was a head coach for the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.  He led the Eagles to the playoffs in 1978 for the first time in 18 seasons and two years later piloted the franchise to the Super Bowl.

Vermeil also spent two years early in his career as the head coach of UCLA.  During a lengthy sabatical from coaching between stops in Philadelphia and St. Louis, he spent time as a football analyst for CBS and ABC.
