Retired NBA Star Spud Webb Speaks at Bluefield State College Foundation Dinner Next Month

Former NBA standout Spud Webb is heading to West Virginia to speak next month. He is the special guest for the Bluefield State College Foundation Dinner.

The event takes place on April 27th at 6 p.m. at Fincastle on the Mountain. Proceeds raised from the dinner go director towards the BSC Scholarship fund.

Individual tickets are $50 while tickets for $62.50 are also available that include a meet-and-greet with Webb an hour prior to the start of the festivities. Corporate table sponsorships are available as well for $500.

Despite being just 5'6", Webb defied the odds to become one of the more memorable players in league history. His win at the 1986 Slam Dunk Contest over teammate Dominique Wilkins particularly inspired a generation of basketball fans.

Webb played the first six seasons of his career with the Atlanta Hawks before going on to be a regular starter for the Sacramento Kings. During his first year in Sacramento, he averaged a career-best 16 points and 7.1 assists per game.

After brief stops with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Orlando Magic, Webb retired from the NBA in 1997. He currently serves as the President of Basketball Operations for the Texas Legends.
