Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Carson Wentz Keynotes National Prayer Breakfast Dinner

Organizers for the National Prayer Breakfast are hoping some Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl magic rubs off on their event. Tonight, Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz will speak at the NPB dinner.

All day, meetings and luncheons are being held at the Hilton in Washington D.C. Political, business and social leaders from around the world are convening to build relationships.

Wentz is stepping in for previously scheduled speaker, United States Vice President Mike Pence. Prior to arriving in the nation's capital, he will be a part of the Super Bowl celebration parade in Philadelphia.

Wentz was a front-runner for the NFL MVP award for most of the season after throwing for 3,296 yards and 33 touchdowns. In Week 14, he went down with a season-ending injury, but was still a vital part of helping the Eagles win the franchise's first Super Bowl.

This year, Wentz also set team records for passing touchdowns and completions. He was named to his first Pro Bowl and was also a first-team All-Pro.

The Eagles originally selected Wentz with the second overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft and he went on to set a league-record for completions by a rookie. He played college football at FCS power North Dakota State.
