Ottawa Senators Owner Eugene Melnyk Speaks at Pond Hockey Classic Dinner in February

Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk is speaking at a special hockey event in February. He will be in Belleville, Ontario for the CFB Trenton Pond Hockey Classic "Puck Drop" Dinner. 

The dinner takes place on February at the Batawa Community Centre. A cocktail hour kicks off the festivities at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. 

Individual tickets go on sale January 6th and cost $100. Funds rasied through the evening go towards the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation and Wounded Warriors Canada. 

Melnyk has owned the Senators since 2003 and also controls the arena they play in, the Canadian Tire Centre. He is also active in the horse racing business as the owner of Melnyk Racing Stables Inc. and Winding Oaks Farm in Ocala, Florida. 

In 1989, Melnyk founded the Biovail Corporation. He served as CEO and chairman of the pharmaceutical company until 2006 and grew it into a billion dollar revenue producer. 

After leaving Biovail, he started Trimel Pharmaceuticals Corporation in 2008. Melnyk also has interests in the cosmetics and biotechnology industries.
