Olympic Star Kerri Walsh Jennings Makes Appearance at California High School

Kerri Walsh Jennings is one of the most prominent current American Olympians.  Her appearance on Monday at Harbor High School in Santa Cruz, California garnered significant buzz.

Walsh Jennings was at the school to help with the dedication of a new beach volleyball court.  The court was originally going to be named "Kerri's Court", but she wanted to to re-name it instead for former Harbor coach Jim Riley, who passed away last year.

Following the dedication, Walsh Jennings took to the court to play with the students who attended.  This is the fifth volleyball court that she and the Good Tiding Foundation have donated in the northern California region.

Walsh Jennings is arguably the greatest beach volleyball player of all-time.  She holds records for wins and career earnings on the professional circuit.

Walsh Jennings is best known for her partnership with Misty May-Treanor.  The pairing led to Olympic gold medals in 2004, 2008 and 2012.

This summer, Walsh Jennings added a fourth Olympic medal to her trophy case, winning bronze with April Ross in Rio.  She also was a member of the U.S. indoor squad at the 2000 Games and plans to head to her sixth Olympics in 2020.
