New York Giants Great George Martin Speaks at Ultimate Concussion Conference

As a retired NFL great, George Martin certainly understands the concerns around concussions.  He spoke authoritatively on the issue at the Ultimate Concussion Conference on October 21st.

The three-day event was held in Hollywood, Florida.  It is a top gathering place for leaders in the fields of sports administration, law, education and health.

Martin was able to give a first-hand account of the ramifications he has seen concussions have on ex-players' lives.  He believes the consequences of concussions are still underestimated.

For 14 years, Martin was a feared defensive end with the New York Giants.  He was the picture of health, only missing six games in that span.

Martin recorded 46 official sacks in his NFL career.  He once held a record for touchdowns scored by a defensive player with six.

In 1987, Martin was a team captain for the Giants team that won Super Bowl XXI.  He is a member of the team's Ring of Honor and the Sports Hall of Fame of New Jersey.
