New Temple head coach Geoff Collins is trying to make a fast impression in his new region. One of his upcoming efforts to get out in the community takes place on February 11th when he will serve as the keynote speaker for the Mr. PA Football Awards banquet. 

Ten finalists for the two awards that are split up among classification groups have been announced. This is the seventh annual event and it takes place at the Hilton Harrisburg. 

Early-bird tickets are available until February 1st for $50. The price will rise $10 after that date and there are also a variety of ticket options for kids and those affiliated with Temple athletics. 

Last month, Collins was announced as the new leader of the Owls program. He will try to keep the momentum going for a team that has recorded back-to-back ten-win seasons. 

Prior to arriving in Philadelphia, Collins was the defensive coordinator for two seasons at the University of Florida. He also coached in the Southeastern Conference at Mississippi State from 2011-14. 

Collins got his first opportunity to be a major college defensive coordinator at FIU in 2010. He has also held FBS coaching positions at Georgia Tech, Alabama and UCF.
