New Orlando Magic Star Serge Ibaka Makes Appearance at Team’s Youth Camp

New Orlando Magic forward Serge Ibaka has wasted no time ingratiating himself to the local community.  He made an appearance at the team's youth camp last Thursday.

The Orlando Magic Youth Camp presented by UnitedHealthcare was held at the RDV Sportsplex.  There were 54 campers present at the event.

Ibaka got to mingle with the kids and teach them some basketball fundamentals.  The Magic have hosted over 20 camps this summer that cater to boys and girls from the ages of 7-16.

Ibaka was dealt to Orlando in a blockbuster NBA Draft-night move.  The franchise is hoping that he bolsters their defense while adding the scoring punch he provided during seven seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

From 2012-2014, Ibaka was named to the All-NBA Defensive first team each season.  He has led the league in blocks twice.

Ibaka was originally selected in the first round of the 2008 NBA Draft.  He has also been an important international player for Spain and helped the country to a silver medal at the 2012 Olympics.
