N.C. State Football Coach Dave Doeren Speaks at Gaston County Sports Hall of Fame in June

The Gaston County Sports Hall of Fame will induct their new class on June 12th. N.C. State football coach Dave Doeren will serve as a special speaker at the event. 

Festivities takes place at the Gastonia Conference Center. Individual tickets go on sale April 26th for $35 at several different locations. 

There is also a charity golf tournament taking place with the proceeds benefiting the ALS Society. This year, there will be five inductees into the hall of fame. 

Doeren has been the head coach at N.C. State for four seasons and has guided the Wolfpack to three straight bowl games. Prior to arriving in Raleigh, he was the head coach at Northern Illinois. 

Doeren went 11-3 and 12-1 and won two Mid-American Conference titles in his two seasons with the Huskies. During his second campaign, NIU earned an Orange Bowl bid and finished 16th in the country. 

Before becoming a head coach, Doeren was an assistant at Wisconsin for five seasons. He also spent time on the staff at his alma mater Drake, USC, Montana and Kansas.
