Michael Strahan's Appearance Helps TEACH Set Records at Charity Dinner

Last week, Michael Strahan was in Houston helping a local charity set records.  The former All-Pro defensive end was the star attraction at the Touchdown for TEACH dinner at River Oaks Country Club.

Strahan took photos and participated in a Q&A with fellow former pro and broadcaster, Spencer Tillman.  The sellout event raised a record $600,000 for TEACH, which works on a variety of area education initiatives.

It was a fun homecoming of sorts for Strahan, who graduated from Westbury High School and Texas Southern University.  The man who wears many hats in the entertainment world also got some much-needed family time during his stay.

Strahan has a busy post-football life as the weekday co-host of Live! with Kelly and Michael and is an analyst on FOX NFL Sunday.  He also attends a variety of speaking engagements.

On the football field, Strahan forged one of the greatest careers of any defensive player.  He was a seven-time Pro Bowler, four-time first team All-Pro, and led the NFL in sacks twice.

Strahan is currently fifth all-time in sacks and set the single-season record with 22.5 in 2001.  In his final season, he helped the New York Giants win Super Bowl XLII.

Not many players are more beloved in Giants history.  Strahan is a member of the franchise’s Ring of Honor and he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
