Miami Hurricanes Coach Mark Richt Speaks at FCA Banquet in Southwest Florida Next Month

Mark Richt had a successful first season back coaching at his alma mater, the University of Miami. He will talk about some of the Hurricanes achievements as the keynote speaker at the 10th annual Southwest Florida Fellowship of Christian Athletes banquet.

The banquet takes place on February 16th at the Naples Grande Beach Resort. Events begin at 5:30 p.m. with a silent auction and raffle in addition to Richt's presentation.

Individual tickets are $150 until tomorrow. There are a variety of table sponsorship packages also available.

In his first year at Miami, Richt led the team to a 9-4 record and a season-ending win at the Russell Athletic Bowl. The Canes finished ranked in the top 25 of both major polls.

Prior to arriving in Coral Gables, Richt became one the most respected head coaches in the country at Georgia. In 15 seasons, he compiled a record of 145-51 and won two Southeastern Conference titles.

Each year the Bulldogs won the SEC, Richt was named Coach of the Year in the conference. His UGA teams won at least ten games nine times.

For 14 years, Richt was on the coaching staff at Florida State under legend Bobby Bowden. He was a backup quarterback during his college career at Miami.
