Los Angeles Lakers Guard Jordan Clarkson Hosts First Southern California Youth Camp

Guard Jordan Clarkson has quickly become one of the most popular players on the Los Angeles Lakers.  Next week, he is slated to host his first Southern California camp, that is bound to draw a large group of his younger fans.

The Nike JC6 Basketball Camp will run Monday through Thursday at the Players Edge Sports Complex in Corona.  Boys and Girls from the ages of 8-18 are welcome to attend.

There is a morning youth development schedule for kids who are between the ages of 8 and 11 while the advanced camp for the rest of those in attendance runs from 1-5.  Registration costs $295 and there are also options for full day attendance as well as groups.

Being a mid-second round pick two years ago, Clarkson was not supposed to be an immediate contributor.  He defied the odds in his rookie season however, averaging 11.9 points and being selected to the NBA All-Rookie first team.

This past season, Clarkson took his game to a higher level, starting 79 games while averaging 15.5 points.  He also had a season highlight, scoring 25 points in the Rising Stars Challenge at All-Star Weekend.

Clarkson split his college playing career between Tulsa and Missouri.  In his final collegiate season, he was named second-team All-Southeastern Conference.
