Kansas City Royals Hall of Famer Jeff Montgomery Speaks to Ottawa Rotary Club

Kansas City Royals Hall of Famer Jeff Montgomery got the opportunity to speak to some of the team's fans on November 29th. He was featured at the Ottawa Rotary Club Meeting in Kansas. 

The event was held at Smoked Creations. Montgomery centered much of the conversation on the idea of work ethic, explaining through his own experience how it is possible to outwork to the competition to achieve ideal results. 

Montgomery also discussed the struggles of the Royals franchise and their recent resurgence. He also answered several questions from the audience. 

Montgomery spent 12 of his 13 major league seasons in Kansas City. He leads the franchise with 304 career saves and at the time, he was just the tenth player all-time to reach the 300-save plateau. 

On three occasions, Montgomery was a three-time All-Star in the American League. In 1993, he led the AL with 45 saves and won the Rolaids Relief Man Award. 

Montgomery retired following the 1999 season. Since 2010, he has been a co-host on the Royals Live pre and postgame show coverage on Fox Sports Kansas City.
