Joe McKeehen Wins World Series of Poker Main Event

Joe McKeehen built up a massive chip lead and that turned into ultimate glory at the 2015 World Series of Poker Main Event.  McKeehen took home the title and a $7.68 million grand prize on Tuesday night.

He bested fellow competitors Joshua Beckley and Neil Blumenfield on the final night of play.  His 128 million chips starting on Tuesday were three times more than the next closest competitor.

McKeehen had enjoyed a strong chip advantage for some time.  He came to the final table with the lead, boasting almost a third of the chips in play, and double that of the second place challenger.

The 25-year-old will now enjoy a heightened profile in the world of poker.  He was one of three players who signed an endorsement deal with 888poker prior to the final table and wore the company’s patch during his victory.

McKeehen made his first tournament cash in 2010 and won his first event at the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.  He has nine WSOP cashes in his career.

In addition to his poker prowess, McKeehen was the 2010 world champion in the board game Risk.  He lives in North Wales, Pennsylvania and graduated from Arcadia University with a degree in mathematics.
