Husson University Welcomes New England Patriots Special Teams Ace Matthew Slater for Speaking Engagement

Many are fascinated by the inner-workings of the New England Patriots. Special teams captain Matthew Slater is bound to give some insights on what makes the franchise so successful when he speaks at Husson University this evening.

Slater's appearance takes place on campus from 8-9 p.m. at the Gracie Theatre. It is organized by the Husson Student Activities office and only open to members of the university community and their guests.

Each student can get up to four general admission tickets and two additional VIP passes for $20 each. Slater will participate in a moderated interview and a Q&A with the audience.

Slater has been the Patriots special teams captain since 2011. He has played in seven AFC Championship Games and four Super Bowls.

Slater has been selected to the Pro Bowl seven straight years. He has earned All-Pro first-team honors four times and was voted to the second-team this past season.

New England originally chose Slater in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft out of UCLA. In his senior season with the Bruins, he set a single-season school record with 986 kickoff return yards and was voted first-team All-Pac 10.
