Hall of Fame Golfer Tom Watson Partners with IBM on Endorsement Deal

A natural partnering years in the making is finally coming through.  At the onset of The Masters, legendary golfter Tom Watson and the tech company are tied together through a sponsorship deal.

It makes sense given that IBM is a global sponsor of The Masters and the company's founder shared Watson's name.  The famed golfer will also appear in an add with the company's mascot Watson.

Additionally, as Watson gets set to tee it up in The Masters for the last time, he is touting several IBM products this week in Augusta.  One of those is the IBM-run tournament app while he is also promoting the analytics that IBM Watson can provide to a golfer of any ability level.

Watson is truly one of the all-time greats.  He has won eight major championships, including five Open Championships.

From 1978-1982, Watson reigned as the number one golfer in the world.  He also topped the PGA Tour's money list on five occasions and won PGA Tour Player of the Year six times.

After his second place finish at the 2009 Open Championship at age 60, there is no question that Watson's abilities on the course have defied age.  In 1988, he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.
