Golf Icon Greg Norman Keynotes University of Miami Sport Industry Conference Next Month

Greg Norman is perhaps known more now for his successful brand than his exploits on the golf course. That makes him the keynote speaker for the University of Miami's Sport Industry Conference.

The event takes place at the Watsco Center March 23rd and 24th, providing great insight into the world of sports through various speakers, panels and interactive opportunities. Norman will speak on the conference's final day as part of a lunch session from 12:15-1:30 p.m.

That morning, Norman's investor team will also hold a pitch competition from 10-11:30 a.m. titled, "Greg Norman's Search For The Next Great Sports Entrepreneur." Registration for Miami students is $100, the price for other college attendees is $150 and members of the general public can sign-up for $200.

Norman now serves as CEO and Chairman of the Greg Norman Company. They have gone into business in numerous different areas and are perhaps best associated with the apparel and golf course design industries.

As a player, Norman spent 331 weeks as the number one ranked golfer in the world. He won 91 times internationally, including 20 times on the PGA Tour.

Norman's two major victories came at The Open Championship in 1986 and 1993. In 2001, he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.
