Former WNBA Star Rebecca Lobo Keynotes East Allen County Schools Educational Foundation Dinner Next Month

The East Allen County Schools Educational Foundation is hosting a special fundraising dinner with one of the most respected players in women's basketball history. Former WNBA star Rebecca Lobo is the keynote speaker.

The event takes place on May 5th at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne's International Ballroom inside the Walb Student Union. Individual tickets are $30, tickets for a couple for $50 and a table of eight is $200.

The doors officially open at 6 p.m. and Lobo will also participate in a question and answer session following her presentation at 7:15 p.m. All proceeds raised from the dinner and accompanying auction to the foundation.

Lobo was a member of the 1995 University of Connecticut team that went 35-0 and won the national championship. She also won all national player of the year awards that season.

Lobo went on to play seven seasons in the WNBA and was named an All-Star in 1999. As a rookie with the New York Liberty, she made the All-WNBA Second Team.

Lobo is currently a top analyst for ESPN on women's college basketball and WNBA games. This month, she was announced as one of the newest members of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
