Former Steelers Quarterback Kordell Stewart Kicks Off Book Tour in Pittsburgh

There is no place that one-time Pro Bowl quarterback Kordell Stewart could kick off his book tour than Pittsburgh.  The former Steelers quarterback is traveling around to promote his autobiography, "Truth: The Kordell Stewart Story".

On Saturday, he attended a pair of book signings at Barnes and Noble stores in South Hills Village and Homestead.  The book was released on Friday and Stewart hopes it provides a level of transparency to his fanbase.

Truth is currently on Amazon's list of football bestsellers.  The comprehensive 176-page book also has a forward from super agent Leigh Steinberg.

With an excellent combination of speed and poise, Stewart was a quarterback ahead of his time.  He recorded 38 rushing touchdowns, good enough for fourth among quarterbacks in NFL history.

As a first-year starter in 1997, Stewart threw for 3,020 yards and scored 32 total touchdowns.  In 2001, he had a similarly productive season with the 13-3 Steelers, making his only Pro Bowl appearance and winning AFC Offensive Player of the Year.

Stewart is also one of the greatest quarterbacks in University of Colorado history, setting records for passing yards and touchdowns with the Buffaloes.  In retirement, he has served as a broadcaster for several national outlets.
